Efecto is a web-based design platform built around AI agents as first-class citizens. Instead of agents assisting human designers, they drive the creation — building layouts, pages, and graphics through natural language in real-time.
It ships with 64 MCP tools covering artboard management, flexbox auto-layout (rows, columns, gap, padding, wrap, fill/hug sizing), text and image manipulation, element alignment and grouping, and multi-format export (PNG, JPEG, WebP, SVG). Designs can be exported directly to v0.app as React + Tailwind CSS code.
Key features include Agent Teams for parallel multi-agent collaboration with distinct personalities and memory, a Brand System for managing colors, typography, components, and compliance auditing, 11 generative WebGL shader backgrounds (mesh gradients, Voronoi, particles), built-in web search so agents can research while designing, and contextual sound design.
Efecto integrates with Claude Code (deepest integration via plugin), Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, Gemini CLI, and any MCP-compatible client. It's completely free with no API key required.
